Who TF Knows
with Emily Rose
The problem
Atlanta-based podcaster, Emily Rose, needs a website to connect with her listeners, sell merch, and provide more content for her patreon subscribers.
The project is a website design for an Atlanta-based pop culture podcaster.
Users & Audience
Users of this site are listeners of the Who TF Knows with Emily Rose podcast and fans of pop culture podcasts.

Interviews
Though a lot of the preferences for this site are determined by the site host, Emily Rose, I decided to interview users of podcast websites to better understand what they are looking for when they visit podcast websites. I want to ensure that the needs of the host and the user are being met. I used affinity mapping to organize the information collected in interviews.

The research was organized into 4 categories:
-
reasons for listening to podcasts
-
frequency of listening to podcasts
-
reasons for podcasts websites
-
dislikes about podcast websites

The research showed that users need a podcast website to offer something different than other social platforms. Users would like a way to engage with the community listening to the podcast, to purchase merch, and to receive extra content.

How might we help users connect with a community of podcast listeners and receive extra content?

Design Suggestion:

Podcast host, Emily Rose, and I really like the Just Break Up Podcast website overall. The one thing that stood out we'd want to change is the layout for the podcast episodes which currently looks like this:

My recommendation is use a card with image, title, and short description of episode.
Sketches
Next I created sketches of possible page designs based on the stakeholder's vision for the website. This helped me get organized as I transition to creating the Lo-Fi prototype.
